You Need Excellent Website Content

I had coffee this morning with an Austin marketing guru who said she recently needed auto glass replacement service.

The first place she looked, of course, was the web. She said she wouldn’t even consider a business that didn’t have an authoritative web site, with intelligent content. “I was totally making my decision based on the website,” she said.

It’s how she (and pretty much everyone else these days) judges a business—based on its website’s authority. And that authority comes from its website content.

Even if you aren’t a content site, even you’re selling a completely non-web-related service or widget, you need good content.  Your marketing plan is incomplete if you don’t have an online content strategy for your business.

Your website content needs to be intelligently executed: to the point, well-written, grammatically correct.  The best ideas and the best information lose all credibility if the website is awash in spelling and punctuation errors, or if your critical points are lost in long-winded blather.

If you want to compete, you must have intelligent, authoritative, well-executed website content.  You must. If this isn’t your area of expertise, hire someone for whom website content is second nature.
